The Okanagan Motorcycle Riders Association has given back to the people of the South Okanagan again. Our annual disbursement gathering was today, and as you can see in the picture, the members were just as happy to give as the recipients were to receive.

OMRA Disburses Cash Throughout South Okanagan Communities

For 14 years now, members of the Okanagan Motorcycle Riders Association have been volunteering their time throughout each year toward various avenues of fundraising. In November of every year, all accumulated funds are then disbursed among selected organizations all over the South Okanagan, which in turn help out those in need.

This year, aside from the pile of toys and $862.00 in cash raised for the St. Vincent DePaul Society in the annual S.O. Toy Run and sponsorship of Omar the Good News Bear, an additional sum of $5000.00 was disbursed between 11 different charities. Pictured here with a handful of OMRA members are representatives of the OSNS, Summerland Fire Dept., SOS Medical Foundation, SOS Brain Injury Society, OK Falls Helping Hand Society, Penticton BMX, SOWINS, and Penticton’s Discovery House. Further donations will be made to Critteraid in Summerland, as well as the Oliver and Osoyoos Christmas Hamper programs. The OMRA is proud to make a difference in our communities.
